Today is May 29th.
Today I am thankful that after 25 years of marriage we have not bought a couch. This past week a blogger that I follow Kat at Grass Stains blogged about her new couch (sectional). I am thankful that I have not had to search for a couch. Since my hubby is the youngest of 8 - 4 on his mother's and 4 on his step-father's we have just received the old couches that the others have replaced with new. Woo hoo for Sure-fit slipcovers.
Update on my mom - everything is good repeat colonoscopy in a year and thyroid looks good.
Update on the youngest - he will be wearing a sling for 6 weeks and went back to school today.
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise—“so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth." Ephesians 6:1-3

Thankfulness Thursday Week 21 of 2014
Today is May 22nd.
Today I am thankful that my youngest is okay after fracturing his right clavicle yesterday afternoon. He received his first ride in an ambulance/paramedic vehicle to the pediatric hospital with no sirens.
I am also thankful that our 17 year old car that was backed into is repairable.
God is so good to us.
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. 1 Chronicles 16:34

Thankfulness Thursday - Week 20 of 2014
Today is May 15th.
Yesterday was my youngest child's birthday, He turned 11. We teased him the night before that we could/would wake him at the time of his birth just like in City Slickers. Our youngest was born at 3:25 am. Needless to day we did not wake him up - because we were all sleeping this year.
The night of his birth was the night I did not sleep. We had put the oldest to bed a couple of hours earlier and we decided about 10pm to go to sleep. I had just laid down and my water broke. I jumped up and the hubby said "Did your water break?" I told him I needed to check to be sure. So we called his parents and then dropped the oldest with them. We did not call anyone else we just planned on waiting until the morning to let everyone else know.
We arrived at the hospital and my nurse was a little disappointed because she figured she would be off her shift by the time the baby delivered. Well I assured her that she would get to see my baby before she left. I reminded her of that as she wheeled me to my room after he was born.
I have been blessed with two easy deliveries with my boys and my body for some reason does not feel contractions until it is time to push. I had to wait for the doctor to arrive with both boys.
Today I am thankful for my youngest son and for the wonderful process of childbirth that I had.

Thankfulness Thursday ---- OOPS ------- today is Friday. Week 19 of 2014
Today is Friday the 9th of May.
How did I miss yesterday?
This has been a crazy week. My mom had a colonoscopy on Monday and an ultrasound of her thyroid today. We find out the results on Tuesday.
Today is my brother's 44th birthday. It is also my husband's brother's birthday (61?).
I am thankful for our brothers. The older one lives far away in Port Angeles, Washington and the younger one lives with my mom.
Have a great day.

Thankfulness Thursday Week 18 of 2014
Today is May 1st.
May Day.
National Day of Prayer.
Today I am thankful that my parents gave me the name that they did. It is not an unusual name but it is definitely not a common name. It has been mispronounced often especially at school, church and doctor's offices. It is not easy to find on a mug, magnet, key chain or ornament. It is sometimes misspelled. My hubby likes to correct people when they leave off the end letter or change it. I have only recently seen it on several Southern blog comments. Hmm maybe it is a Southern name. My mom just says she knew someone with this name and she liked it.
My hubby has a common Biblical name and we gave both our boys common Biblical names. My hubby picked the names. The deal was I could have babies and he could pick the names. If we had a girl she would have been named Debra.
Enjoy this crazy Month of May. I know I have several things going on during the first 2 weeks that will keep me very busy.
