Today is Friday the 9th of May.
How did I miss yesterday?
This has been a crazy week. My mom had a colonoscopy on Monday and an ultrasound of her thyroid today. We find out the results on Tuesday.
Today is my brother's 44th birthday. It is also my husband's brother's birthday (61?).
I am thankful for our brothers. The older one lives far away in Port Angeles, Washington and the younger one lives with my mom.
Have a great day.
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise—“so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth." Ephesians 6:1-3

Thankfulness Thursday Week 18 of 2014
Today is May 1st.
May Day.
National Day of Prayer.
Today I am thankful that my parents gave me the name that they did. It is not an unusual name but it is definitely not a common name. It has been mispronounced often especially at school, church and doctor's offices. It is not easy to find on a mug, magnet, key chain or ornament. It is sometimes misspelled. My hubby likes to correct people when they leave off the end letter or change it. I have only recently seen it on several Southern blog comments. Hmm maybe it is a Southern name. My mom just says she knew someone with this name and she liked it.
My hubby has a common Biblical name and we gave both our boys common Biblical names. My hubby picked the names. The deal was I could have babies and he could pick the names. If we had a girl she would have been named Debra.
Enjoy this crazy Month of May. I know I have several things going on during the first 2 weeks that will keep me very busy.

Thankfulness Thursday Week 17 of 2014
Today is April 24th.
Today I am thankful for my sweet friend Camille at Flowers in His Garden. She has been a blessing to me even though we have never met in person. Today's post was a great one. It is amazing the world we live in where we can have friendships that span miles but can communicate immediately.
Have a wonderful day.

Thankfulness Thursday Week 16 of 2014 - Ask, seek, knock
Ask and it will be given to you;
seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks receives;
the one who seeks finds;
and to the one who knocks,
the door will be opened.
Matthew 7:7-8
Matthew 7:7 has been my favorite verse for a while now.
God wants us to seek Him.
He wants us to ask Him.
He wants us to knock at His heart.

Thankfulness Thursday Week 15 of 2014
Today is April 10th.
On April 8th my husband and I celebrated 25 years of marriage. It is amazing to think how long we have been married and yet it feels like just a few days ago that we started on this journey together. Today I am thankful that we have stayed the course and made the other person more important than ourselves at times. We had planned years ago a big celebration but circumstances being what they are we decided to make it more intimate and stay at the same hotel that we stayed for our wedding night. My hubby surprised me by taking me to our church and renewing our vows. It was just us and our Pastor and his wife. I am so thankful for my hubby that knows just the right gift for me. We then went to the church where we were married and took a tour and remembered where we met and the time that we spent there. We had a wonderful time just us and the hotel was not busy at all, in fact we were the only ones in the dining room for dinner. This is the first time that we had been away from our children (ages 10 & 14) for 24 hours. So thankful for the time that we could spend just focusing on each other. We are ready to go another 25+ years.

Twenty-five
T Twenty-five years ago today
W we started on this journey as husband and wife.
E Each with their own thought of what a marriage would be
N not realizing that each marriage is unique to each couple.
T Together we've learned we're not perfect
Y yet have loved each other none the less.
F Fun times, bad times, gains and losses
I I wouldn't change them.
V Very much in like and in love for-
E ever we will be.

Thankfulness Thursday Week 14 of 2014
Today is April 3rd.
Today I am thankful for the sunshine. I am so blessed to live in an area that gets abundant sunshine. I have felt better with the longer days and more sunshine. I think that maybe another reason I feel better is because I have something that I am looking forward to in 5 days. More about that...in 5 days. Hope your April Fool's Day was okay. My youngest had a much younger school mate get him about having his shoelaces untied. He was such a good sport about it and the school mate was so cute.

And when you look up to the sky and see the sun, the moon and the stars—all the heavenly array—do not be enticed into bowing down to them and worshiping things the Lord your God has apportioned to all the nations under heaven.
Deuteronomy 4:19
For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.
Psalm 84:11
He made the moon to mark the seasons, and the sun knows when to go down.
Psalm 104:19
Thank you Lord for the sun.
